Esteemed Star Pat Finn, a versatile actor, Known For Parts in The Middle and Friends, Dies at Age 60.
Stateside entertainer Pat Finn, who appeared in beloved television series like Friends, "Seinfeld" and The Middle, has succumbed at 60 years old.
The skilled improv artist succumbed at his home in Los Angeles, California this Monday following treatment for a cancer diagnosis beginning in 2022, according to reports.
"Pat saw everyone as a friend - just potential friends he had yet to meet," his family said in a announcement.
They noted that he had "embraced life completely - with happiness and energy".
A Notable Career on Screen
Finn's first television role was in the George Wendt Show in 1995, where he played the lead character's sibling.
He also had a repeating character on Murphy Brown between 1995 and 1997.
He starred as the character Joe Mayo in "Seinfeld" in 1998, depicting a social organizer famous for delegating tedious tasks to his guests.
During the late 1990s and early 2000s, he made guest appearances on several popular shows, like:
- King of Queens
- Friends
- "That '70s Show"
- House, M.D.
He was most recognized for portraying Bill Norwood in The Middle, featuring across eight series between 2011 and 2018.
His work in movies include "It's Complicated" and Santa Paws 2: The Santa Pups (2012).
Off-Screen Life
Beyond his acting parts, Finn was deeply involved in improvisational comedy and worked as a teacher at the University of Colorado, where he was a faculty member.
He was a member of a six-member improv team called Beer Shark Mice.
"Pat coached, befriended and mentored numerous pupils over the years and it's nearly impossible to find anyone who has anything negative to say about him," his loved ones expressed.
Offering condolences, peer actor Richard Kind noted there was "nobody more kind, gentle, and humorous, down to earth person you could encounter".
"Always positive, making those around him better and funnier. A wonderful father and man," Kind wrote publicly.
The actor is survived by his wife Donna, his children, and his family.
