Former BBC Consultants Participate in MPs' Grilling After Assertions of Prejudice in Leaked Document

We open with questions from Conservative lawmaker Caroline Dinenage, that chairs the group.

She initiates by providing details to the unauthorized memo written by Michael Prescott and released in the Telegraph.

"I don't want the British Broadcasting Corporation slanting in any particular direction, My only wish is for it straight, unbiased and fair," he declares.

When asked if he thinks the British Broadcasting Corporation is institutionally biased, he responds: "No, I do not. It is important to note, tons of stuff the British Broadcasting Corporation produces is top-tier - including informative and entertainment shows."

But he adds: "There exists real work that requires attention at the British Broadcasting Corporation."

Another former external British Broadcasting Corporation adviser examined by the committee, Caroline Daniel, states she takes the British Broadcasting Corporation with great importance and that it maintains a "continuous process and vigorous discourse" across fluid and multifaceted issues.

"Whether the BBC was willing to have a thorough conversation and exchange and act accordingly?" she questions. "As I see it, yes they were."
