Mohamed Salah Issues Regret to Liverpool Dressing Room, Discloses Curtis Jones
Jones has shared that the Egyptian forward apologised to the group of players after the controversy from his public comments.
What Happened
Salah was left out from a European match subsequent to making accusations and claiming his connection to the head coach had deteriorated.
“He speaks for himself and he can say his own stuff,” Jones revealed. “He said sorry to the group and was like: ‘If my words hurt anyone, please accept my apology.’”
The manager has previously declined to disclose on whether he was apologised to from the player.
Looking Ahead
He emphasized that the squad's reaction remained positive. “Nothing about him changed, he had a big smile on his face and we all treated him normally,” the midfielder explained.
The midfielder also implied that a competitor wanting to play is preferable. “I get that there are specific approaches you can go about things,” he said. “But if a lad’s fine to just sit out, then I think that’s a bigger problem.”
Positive Results
Their results have remained strong in the period after the initial controversy. He feels the Salah's words were never meant to cause disruption.
“If passion has boiled over, it has consistently come from a place of caring,” Jones concluded. “We’re past that now and we’re uniting strongly, getting results and starting to win games.”
