New Details Come to Light Regarding the Location of Rob and Michele Singer Reiner's Remains
New information has come to light regarding the shocking passing of esteemed film director Rob Reiner and photographer Michele Singer Reiner, whose bodies were located at their residence property on Sunday.
A Initial Report
A source indicates citing a confidential source, a practitioner arriving for an appointment was the first to notice something was wrong after being unable to gain access the house. The therapist then reached out to the couple's daughter, Romy Reiner, who resides in the vicinity.
Upon entering the residence, Romy discovered her father's body. Reports state she then exited the property overwhelmed with grief, not realizing at that moment that her mother's body was there as well. Her roommate who had accompanied her contacted 911. Following this, first responders discovered Michele Singer Reiner's body.
Legal Proceedings
Law enforcement have formally accused the couple's 32-year-old son, Nick Reiner, with two counts of first-degree murder, along with the charge related to a weapon, reportedly a knife. He is presently being held and denied bail.
Correcting the Record
The confidential informant questioned several previously reported details. It was stated that while Romy Reiner informed emergency responders that her brother Nick resided in a separate structure on the grounds, she did not point to him as a person of interest at that time.
Additionally disputed published claims that Rob and Michele Singer Reiner had been especially "worried" about Nick's conduct in recent weeks. Rather the family was "accustomed to working through [Nick's] problems together."
This correction applies to accounts of reportedly "erratic" behavior by Nick at a gathering hosted by Conan O'Brien on the night before the bodies were found. While the source said they were unable to confirm whether Rob had "scolded" his son at the party, they said that claims of a "blow-up" between the two were not correct.
Ongoing Inquiry Details
Per law enforcement sources, the medical examiner had not yet established as of Tuesday whether the Reiners died late on Saturday or on Sunday. Some accounts indicated the state of their bodies pointed to they had been deceased for some hours.
Nick Reiner was apprehended at around 9:30 p.m. on Sunday in the neighbourhood of Exposition Park, roughly 15 miles from the family home. He was scheduled to have a hearing on Tuesday, but his attorney, Alan Jackson, said his client had not received medical clearance and would be unable to attend until Wednesday at the earliest.
